Students simulate real world in Reality Store

The 8th grade students at HMS prepare for Reality Store tomorrow. Reality Store is an experience designed to help 8th grade students learn more about the real world by interacting with volunteers who can provide them with accurate, helpful information as students imitate the role of a 28-30 year-old adult. Students begin by selecting a career that they think they may want to pursue. Homeroom teachers then assign them a salary the students will then be given information on taxes, child care, leisure trips, groceries, and even the finical implications of the family pet.
