Doniphan man won't face gun charges in shooting incident
Posted: 04/26/12 08:10 A Doniphan man won't be facing a gun-related charge in a shooting incident reported by Hall County deputies. Twenty-two-year-old Cash Cosgriff has pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor assault counts for a domestic dispute earlier this month. Last week Cosgriff was sentenced to a year in jail. The deputies had reported an exchange of gunshots with Cosgriff on April 5, but no injuries were reported. Hall County Attorney Mark Young said in a statement that after discussion with the sheriff's office, he "reluctantly concluded" that the lack of physical evidence such as a gun or shell casing would prevent the successful prosecution of a weapons charge against Cosgriff. |
