Hastings High moving newspaper to online-only
Posted: 05/24/12 08:16 Hastings High School's newspaper, the Tiger Cub, is beginning a new era. After more than 100 years, it will no longer be a printed newspaper. It's going online. The announcement came out in the May 16 edition of the paper, the last of the school year. Tiger Cub adviser Cathy Davis says students are more likely to use computers, e-readers or smart phones to get the news. She says the technology is important not only for journalism students but all students preparing for college or the workplace. Davis says she wants to give students more knowledge and experience with different types of journalism. That means writing stories, taking photos and designing Web pages while creating a 15-minute broadcast and other video news stories. |
