Game and Parks retiring director honored at meeting

Rex Amack, was honored last night at the South Platte United Chamber of Commerce meeting in Hastings. Amack retired in April following 45 years at Game and Parks, the last 24 as director. Amack says the presentation was touching, considering all the initiatives that SPUCC and the Game and Parks worked on over his years as director. The Red Cloud native received a painting of Sunrise on the Platte River, than stayed to sign copies of the latest Nebraska Life Magazine, which featured a story on the former director. Amack says he was proud to say he left the department in good hands. James Douglas was hired as Game and Parks new director on March 16, 2012.
